# Custom blacklist file so I don't mess with any of the files that come with The "configuration #1 chosen from 2 choices" line caught my attention - i read here that my remote should use lirc_mceusb2 not lirc_mceusb, so after some experimenting i unloaded lirc_mceusb and blacklisted it. #PHILIPS EHOME INFRARED RECEIVER UPDATE#
It started after i ran a usual update - it updated the kernel from 2.6.32-28 to 2.6.32-31. When i was trying to fix my lirc mce issue, this is the thread that kept popping up, so i figure it might be a good place to start trying to figure out why my machine is now fixed.Īs i have no idea why - what i did fixed the issue, i can only assume that it will break again at any time. I have the same IR remote/receiver and got the same responses from DMESG etc that you did (although on Lucid 10.04 desktop).Īfter doing some searching I did find a solution that worked (and it was simple to fix) !! If anyone knows the hardware or know what is wrong please tell. The only thing right now I can think of is that somehow the receiver is f***ed. I'm running EG latest version and have both used the MCE plugin and the General HID etc with no results, no events show up when buttons pressed.

Neither intelliremote nor EventGhost seem to take the signal, although they see that the drivers are installed and the receiver is there. Ive tried all guides out there, used various registry setting changes and spent countless hours with both xp sp3 (my primary os) and win7 to try to get any kind of response from the remote on the pc to no avail. I cannot fathom why it's not finally working.

The remote works fine with my tv after ive set the tv code and all but ive spent far to much time trying to get it working with my pc than I should with exams comming up :/ It installs fine as the ehome Infrared receiver etc and when I press a button on the 360 remote it blinks red etc. After several frustrating weeks and two non-working ir dongles I finally got hold of a proper rc6 dongle, the philips OVU4003/00 which afaik is the same as the beanbag receiver etc mentioned here : and here.
